I wanted to move to word*press too but I find the wordpress a bit difficult to manage. I don't know how to put my widgets . I don't know how to use a free template I have seen from the web. Kevin Paquet has given me some tips like installing All in SEO thing. But to be honest, I don't have a clue what to do with it after I've installed it.
ARGGGGGGGAGHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
So I thought I will stick with Blogger for awhile till I figure out how to work with wordpress.
I am actually VERY frustrated right now on my blog design. I want a new layout. One that would load quicker and would be less cluttery. Does my blog load slowly with you too or is it just me?
I think I am gonna stop for now, I have been here since 9 am and it is already 2 pm and I have not accomplished anything at all. We'll go spend a weekend in Malacca, Malaysia. I will try not to think about blogging till Monday.^-^
If you have tips or if you know somebody who can help me before I go crazy. Please leave me a comment. Anybody can help me move my blog to wordpress?
Sticky Note:
I am on a blog leave right now but I won't be gone too long.
On my 100th post I will be having my very own contest. So watch out for that folks!

hi Jade =) easy lang gurl!! I know it could be really stressful to make major changes in blogs. I went through it recently, I was battling with html codes. i have some links on my site that might help you. hackosphere and tips for new bloggers are the names of the site. I consult those sites when I wanna make changes =) with regards to wordpress, they say its better than blogger so i tried it but it was not very easy to use! So what I did was stick to blogger and try to find some new hacks to make it more customized for my needs =) in the meantime, ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND AND GOD BLESS mwah!
p.s. I will add your link as soon as your done with your new look! BYe
Nah,
Ate uhmm..
If I have time later to go online later, I will try to help you out :)
Wordpress is not that difficult actually : )
Yes. I agree with Kevin. At first glance it seems complicated. But once you get used to it. It works just like blogger. In fact, it gives you more flexibility in designing your site.
As for me, I really wanted to get a wordpress blog (I have a free one actually - not maintained) with it's own domain name but just like you, I find it not user-friedly. Unlike blogger, the platform is very easy to use and editable. I can easily do experiments and of course, if you noticed, I am doing a little make-over myself. But I will try to learn wordpress soon...not now. I am bit having a handful of work to do in my current blogs.
By the way, can you link my banner buttons here?? You can pick from my sites where you want to link. Just let me know if there are blogs you wanted to link-up (my new blogs particularly). OK? Have a great weekend!!

Hi there. I tried Wordpress also. I was halfway of transferring my entries when I decided to just give up.
It looks beautiful at one glance but hard to manage and give my personal touch.
The page elements are too complicated for me. So I decided to stick with blogger and experiment more on improving my site.
I hope you enjoy your trip. :)
We have a competition running :)

I thought about switching from Blogger to Wordpress a couple times, but I haven't really come up with a good enough reason to.
As I watch other bloggers make the transition, most of them seem happy after the fact, but have a heck of a time making it happen.
And, while blogger occasionally falsely flags a blog as spam, I don't hear of blogger blogs crashing or having software updates fail, servers crashing, or folks getting hit with overage charges on bandwidth.
I'm not saying going to Wordpress is a bad idea, but I wouldn't do it without a major reason. I'm sure the hassles aren't as common as it sounds, but the risk and headache just aren't really worth it to me.
I may revisit the idea in another 6 months or so. Good luck with your project. I hope it all works out. You'll come out of this a Wordpress Expert.
hugs.. yeah better spend time off the pc for a few days or just even hours will work...
I am so like you when it comes to tech stuffs hard to figure them out... my great helpers for my blogs are Zunnur (A little Time) and Donna (MsPinkBiik) they give very easy to follow instructions for a tech deficient like me hahaha!
Good luck girl and take it easy! (((hugs)))
I use Tips for New Bloggers site too. I have been thinking of changing to wordpress too but unsure. Hope you had a restful weekend.
Thanks for dropping by my blog! hehe
Hey take it easy, you know I have blogs from blogger and WP and I tell you, they are both frustrating when you want some changes in it. hehe..
but hey, if you don't want complicated designs it might be easy to edit any of it. just take it easy. hehe.. if you need some help, just drop me a line. good luck.
hi jade,
i started my blog from free-hosted wordpress, then its just this january that i got my own hosting/domain services...
first of all..if you're not really planning to monetize your blog (like google adsense & sponsored posts) then its fine to switch to wordpress (free-hosted)..but i observed that you have Project Wonderful, im not sure if Wordpress will allow that..
But if you will purchase a hosting service ..then you will not have limitations with regard to this monetizing blog..
just a thought ..
If you're changing blogging platform to get your blog to "load faster", then you're doing it for the wrong reasons.
Blogger or Wordpress, they are equally powerful platforms and work equally well. However, if you want your blog to load faster, then cut down on your widgets. The less code you have in your template calling an external site to load a box, or a graphic, or whatever, the faster it will load.
This is true for any website, let alone a blog. It's just more noticeable in a blog because many bloggers (including myself) have numerous widgets for statistics, ads, or even fun stuff like a shoutbox. Each of these widget contributes to slowing down your blog loading time.
haha...
I also tried to transfer to wordpress. I couldn't figure out the darn thing so I went back to blogspot.
tickle girl...have a break...have a breather...you've been tagged to join the longest line! see my earthly explorations blog for details... tc girl! how was the weekend getaway?
Try putting your content on the left side. This change should allow your posts to load first, while your readers begin reading the widgets and other content can be loading.
