Moving to the Philippines

by Jade on April 2, 2010

Our move date is getting closer and closer. Even though I am still on a bed rest, I have already started the preparations. I have called several relocation companies to come and give us a quotation. A couple has come by already to survey our stuff. They think they will be able to fit our stuff in one 20 cubic foot container.

I wonder how much it would cost, I am still waiting for their offers. If it’s super expensive I am thinking of sending some of the electronic items like the stereo, the epson tm-t88iv, my sewing machine and some other small electronic items via a balikbayan box company to lessen the duties we need to pay on the shipment.

We used balikbayan boxes through Forex. Shipped five boxes at a cost of $100 each, but wish we would have shipped more electronics and tools since electronics are so expensive in the Philippines. Did ship my computer and use a voltage regulator transformer for it which works great. Good luck on the move!
