In 2009 I wrote about my Singapore Flyer Experience. It was a very nice experience especially with a Singapore Sling . For those that don’t know what the Singapore Flyeris, here’s some info :

I was looking through my picture archives to get some ideas for landscaping the area around our house and I found these pictures. Boy I look so slim in this pictures! I hope I can get back in to my weight when this picture was taken :p. These pictures were taken in the Chinese Garden in Singapore.

There’s an area here dedicated to Bonsai trees. I always wanted to have a bonsai but I don’t have the time now to take care if one because all my time is dedicated to Sean .

It’s a very beautiful place, great place for relaxing and clearing your head.

…. they are not our kids if that’s what you are thinking They are our beloved recliner chairs. We have sent them to get reupholstered. They were picked up by the company 4 weeks ago and at that time I asked if they will give me a paper saying they picked up 2 recliners but they said they didn’t have it. I should probably made them sign a piece of paper that they picked it up.

We were told that it would be ready in 3 weeks, it’s been 4 weeks now and they still haven’t delivered them. I called them several times and they said today they will deliver it, it still hasn’t arrived. We love those chairs a lot and we don’t want to lose it. If only chairs could be insured, I would have looked for free life insurance quote for our lazy boys.

We were just about to go to a parking lot when we heard a beep. It was the ERP (electronic toll fee system). Hubby forgot to put the card back in the device and that would cost him 5 times more than the actual toll fee. He takes it out when he gets home because it might get damaged if it’s exposed too much to the sun and he forgot to put it back when we drove to the city. These ERP have an amazing scanning software but we wish that it wouldn’t require one to put a card into the device.

Monday, my first day being 27 started out pretty good. I woke up early because I had a doctor’s appointment at 10 am. It was all going well, I was ready on time. We went out to queue for a cab and boarded one after a few minutes.

The taxi driver asked where we wanted to go. I said to …..Hospital. He didn’t seem very pleased. But he didn’t say he didn’t want to go there or anything. He asked which route we want to go, I said take the fastest route. And then he asked again how I want to go there, if want to go to ECP bla bla bla. It made me wonder if he knew where the place is, I asked if he know it. He said yes I know how to go there and says also that what he’s asking is which high-way I want to take. I already told him I don’t have a preference, just the fastest way.

At first I was convinced that he would take the normal route my hubby takes when he drives me to the hospital because I think that’s the fastest route. But maybe that’s not the fastest route in his mind. So having that said, I cannot complain about the fact that he took an extra long route going to my destination.

So anyway, we arrived at the hospital and I asked how much. I also asked for a receipt. He said the price and said if you want receipt, you have to pay the ERP (toll fee) too. I don’t recall passing through an ERP. So I asked, ok so how much without a receipt. He shouted the amount to my face, same amount I had to pay including the ERP charge. I was scared but didn’t show it. I gave him the money and still he didn’t give me the receipt.

I have never encountered such a rude taxi driver in Singapore. Luckily out of habit, I have jotted down his taxi number : SHD 51L . I just don’t know what taxi company he works for. The taxi was red so I think it a Trans Cab taxi. I will report him to the LTA and hope he gets fined.

I have been wanting to try it since it came out in Singapore but I haven’t have the guts yet. I was wondering if it way safe, hygienically speaking.

What if the person before me had eczema or something. I have some acquaintances who have done it and swears it is something I should really try. So I read a bit about it and I am now convinced. I now know that it is safe as the fishes only consumes the dead areas of the skin and it leaves the healthy skin to grow. I hope to try it this weekend for my birthday.

Here in Singapore, 10 minutes cost $10. I will let you know how it went.

March marks our third year of living in Singapore. I can’t believe how time flew by so quickly. I can still remember when we just got here, we were sweating like pigs (do pigs sweat?), boy we had to shower like three times a day when we just got here probably because we had to get acclimatize to warm weather still.

When we arrived here, we stayed for 3 months in a serviced apartment in Orchard , all expense paid by the company. Great great time, free lodging and we dined out every night for free too. Ahhh the good old days.

During the first two months we did house hunting. We didn’t find a place we liked immediately as most condos here are small, not enough to put all the stuff we brought with us. We eventually found a place, a landed house to be exact that’s big enough. It had 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. In front of the house was a pre school, I didn’t think that would be a problem.

We thought we really found a gem, what I realized later on was, the house was too big for me to clean and the noise from the pre school is irritating as hell. We were always awaken by crying children who didn’t want to go to school. Oh it’s just terrible. We survived for two years and then we decided it’s time to move, we need a change of environment and a good sleep.

We found a place we liked nearby the East coast beach park. We have been living here for a year now. I wish we had chosen to live in a condo in the very beginning. It’s so much better here. It’s nearby the everything, park, food establishments, and there’s even a convenience store right inside the condo compound.

And come June we will be embarking on yet a new adventure, we will be moving again but this time it’s for good. We are moving to the Philippines! I am very excited I am actually already looking for  long distance moving companies this early. I am  really excited about this move. We will be living on our farm – finally a simple life!

Will I miss Singapore?

Of course I will miss Singapore alot. I will miss the laksa , the duck noodles, visiting the Botanical Garden, the Jurong Bird Park and The Singapore Zoo and many more but anyway we are not moving on the other side of the world so I am sure we will visit once in awhile.
