We came across this flea market by accident when we went to this address to buy something for our farm in the Philippines. Of course we had to check it out …
It reminds me of the time when we still lived in Holland. We would always go to Rotterdam on Saturday to buy some fresh fruit and fish and browse what they have to offer in the flea market.
The one that we found here in Singapore is not very big but nevertheless we saw some interesting stuff like bowling balls, old shoes, second hand bicycles. I think for people who doesn’t have a lot of means – this would be a shopping haven.
Need some shoes?
If you are on a budget, try visiting a flea market and you might be surprised on what you will find…almost everything except for New York Yankees tickets and even if they do sell this in the flea market I wouldn’t buy it there, better go to a reputable dealer to avoid fraud.

I think there is many to see and find at flea market but most time I just view and not buying
I do not think they are new stuff but most are like second handed stuff.

Yeah, flea markets do have the best buys. I remember when we lived in San Jose (California). They have the largest flea market there with random good things and we’d pay a visit every week. Now I have to buy my own stand in there to get rid of all I bought years ago. They piled up well =)

My BIL from M’sia showed us this place which he called Sungei Road. There were no shelter from the blazing sun, so we did a quick browsing n left for the nearest foodcourt for some cold desserts

On Queen’s B-day, our town also has the “rommelmarkt” – but I never could find anything of interest. And as usual, we ended up having tea n oranje tompouce at the cafe instead !

I haven’t been to Deventeer, beetje ver van Bergen op Zoom. We always went to Rotterdam,oetermeer or just at our hometown. What I like from these rommelmarkt is the delft blauw… I started collecting them but didn’t had enough time coz shortly after that we got an offer to move to Asia.
I kinda miss Holland you know especially the haring
and the tulips all over the street.
oh Jade, I know what you mean we have it here too but its kind of expensive as need to buy the voucher, I think it cost RM$300 here or more.

@ Sherry – the voucher you can use to buy make up right? Here it was SGD100, I just did it coz I wanted the souvenir picture too
So I can look back at it when I am old an wrinkled up and say to my kids ” That’s what grandma looked like in the old days”

yeah Jade, the voucher can redemption for the product too but not entirely. Its good you pamper yourself. Yeah pictures bring back lots of memory. You just have one picture? here usually they will ask you to have more but need to add $ to have them.

Hubby and I love fleamarkets. But, now, I go to Goodwill most of the time. They have specials on Wednsesdays and Sundays, and every 1st SAturday of the month, they offer 50% entire store. That is when I buy used furniture and shoes. Oh ha? Who neds brand new if you can get used but still decent looking?

I like flee markets! And in Philippines before, I have bought a lot of things from many shops that sell these old and used stuffs. Others are really not that that old but just thrown as the owners either got thin or fat. ^^
