It always brings me unspoken joy and peace whenever I look out on our plantation. I’m proud to say that it has definitely “grown” over the past years, and my husband and I do intend to keep it looking alive. It’s a living testament to our journey as husband and wife, and my own as a mother. Plants, and flowers, do have that effect on people, I guess. As they grow, so do we. They prettify our surroundings and serve as a beautiful backdrop to important events in our lives.

Again, I’m looking out the window at our plantation, and am seriously considering bringing some of that indoors. If you are with me on this, and would like to do the same to your living space, here are some tips on how to decorate your home with flowers.

You can have your florist get you a bunch of fresh flowers- either identical or different ones- to decorate your living room. Use floating candles in the basin together with the flowers looks good too.

In the bedroom, you can achieve that overall relaxing feel by getting different vases to put your flowers in. Get your flowers in different colors, for a more pleasing effect. Roses, lilies, and carnations are an excellent choice. Put them on your bedside table, and you’ll feel that you’re sleeping in a rose garden.

Your dining room could use some flowers as well. You can put a sequence of vases with fresh flowers on a table cloth to adorn your dining table. You can put candles in between the vases to make a beautiful blend. Or, if you’re feeling romantic, you can use a single flower- such as a daisy- to heighten the mood of love.

Our Cashew Plantation

Our cashew plantation is looking good. Our plants are growing well and some trees are already bearing some fruit. I think next year we will be in business and hopefully we can become one of the top supplier of cashew nuts in the Philippines in the future.

This is how cashew fruits and nuts look like when it’s ready to be harvested.

Cashew nuts are very popular snack but there are many uses for cashew like the cashew apple (fruit) when mashed can be turned into wine. And the young leaves can be used in salads as well.

I am sure it would be lots of fun to experiment I’ll keep you posted.

Every student received a bag with 2 pencils/pen, an eraser and a sharpener.
