March marks our third year of living in Singapore. I can’t believe how time flew by so quickly. I can still remember when we just got here, we were sweating like pigs (do pigs sweat?), boy we had to shower like three times a day when we just got here probably because we had to get acclimatize to warm weather still.
When we arrived here, we stayed for 3 months in a serviced apartment in Orchard , all expense paid by the company. Great great time, free lodging and we dined out every night for free too. Ahhh the good old days.

Us three years ago

During the first two months we did house hunting. We didn’t find a place we liked immediately as most condos here are small, not enough to put all the stuff we brought with us. We eventually found a place, a landed house to be exact that’s big enough. It had 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. In front of the house was a pre school, I didn’t think that would be a problem.
We thought we really found a gem, what I realized later on was, the house was too big for me to clean and the noise from the pre school is irritating as hell. We were always awaken by crying children who didn’t want to go to school. Oh it’s just terrible. We survived for two years and then we decided it’s time to move, we need a change of environment and a good sleep.
We found a place we liked nearby the East coast beach park. We have been living here for a year now. I wish we had chosen to live in a
condo in the very beginning. It’s so much better here. It’s nearby the everything, park, food establishments, and there’s even a convenience store right inside the condo compound.
And come June we will be embarking on yet a new adventure, we will be moving again but this time it’s for good. We are moving to the Philippines! I am very excited I am actually already looking for long distance moving companies this early. I am really excited about this move. We will be living on our farm – finally a simple life!
Will I miss Singapore?
Of course I will miss Singapore alot. I will miss the laksa , the duck noodles, visiting the Botanical Garden, the Jurong Bird Park and The Singapore Zoo and many more but anyway we are not moving on the other side of the world so I am sure we will visit once in awhile.

That’s a big house you got there. My brother’s family lives in a condo along Orchard Road, Regency I think. It’s their third place but I think the kids love the pool in their condo. I hope you’ll find a nice place back here in the Philippines. Are you planning on getting a condo or townhouse in the city?
We will be living in our farm in Palawan,we are tired of living in the city.
hi jade! i’m sure you’re very excited to be coming home to the Philippines for good.
to think you’re going to live pa in your farm. fresh air! so unlike living in Manila. i’m sure your hubby will love it here, too!
whoa, you really had a big house then, 5 rooms, that takes a lot of time to clean huh. Anyway, good luck with ur movin to the Beautiful Country, Philippines! Mabuhay, you can also visit Cebu sometime!
We have been blog buddies for two years and yet we haven’t meet up. I hope my ankle will get better before you leave for the Philippines so we can have tea or lunch.
wow! ganda naman ng house. prang pang big family nga. hayz. aga mo naman magsawa sa city. ako di ko na keri ung gastos pero di ko din keri tumira sa farm. LOL mamamatay ako sa sobrang tahimik. wakokok
Wow! I’ve never been to Palawan. For sure you’ll feel at home in your farm as soon as you step foot on it. I wish we have a province we could go during summers. My parents and I grew up in Manila, how I wish they didn’t leave their provinces to live in the city.
you really got SOMETHING there…
How exciting! I’m sure you’ll miss Singapore, but you have a lovely home to move into and in such a fascinating place too
You will not miss the weather, trust me. I have been moving the past 3 years and hope to settle down for good back in the US.
Good luck on your new venture and goodbye to the cleanest place in the world. I’m told there’s no litter on the streets in Singapore, so what happens to all those wet hankies the crying school kids throw away.
Singapore is a really great place to live. Anyone could be attached to it so easily. But like you said, Singapore isn’t that far away from the Philippines! I’m sure you’ll get to visit.

Hi Jade, My brother lives in Singapore and he’s a permanent resident there. Yeah, it’s sweaty there just like here in the Philippines. But it’s clean and organized.
WOW that Lamborghini is almost as pretty as you are. Notice I said almost

Hi Jade,
I haven’t place it for sale but I’m planning to sell it for $30 with a free gift. Ill put it up tomorrow..;)
there’s no better place like home.. but i agree you’d surely miss singapore.. nevertheless, you can go back there anytime, for vacation and relaxation diba..
Happy Birthday Jade mwah
That’s a great and refreshing change Jade! And Singapore is just a few hours of plane ride in case you miss it.
hi! it’s the first time i’m posting here. cheers to your future move back here in the Philippines! Like you, initially I wanted a house that’s spacious and all. However, with a twist of (good) fate we ended up getting a condo, and I loved it!
anyway, hope you enjoy your “new life” in Palawan!
