I know I am terribly late in posting this. I have been so busy with a gazillion things. Anyway, we wanted to celebrate the New Year with a blast so we went to the Marina Bay Countdown. Good thing that I chose for that rather than the Party @ The Float because it was canceled later on.
The atmosphere at the Marina Bay was great. Lots of people were there – Singaporeans and foreigners alike to celebrate the coming of the New Year.
We started to queue up before 7 pm to enter the largest floating stage so we can chose a good place to see the show and the fireworks as well. I am glad we came early.

The televised show was to start at 10:30 pm but there were opening acts like Ash (which I didn’t really like because it’s too much of hard rock) and River Maya from the Philippines who recently won Best Asian Artist Award ( Woohooo!) which played a much better tune. Unfortunately – no pictures on those performances.

I liked the comedy act with Barbarella. She’s cute and funny!

What I didn’t like about this show is that there were too many commercials, I mean we paid $28 to see this show but it is bombarded after each act by commercials. If they want this event to be recognized worldwide like the celebrations in Manhattan they should continue entertaining the people even during the commercial breaks for the t.v. program.

Oh well, it is their first time to do this; the Mediacorp artists tried their best maybe next time it would be better. I must say the fireworks display was wonderful. There is nothing I could complain about that.

Great photos! Especially the last firework shot.
I cannot stand that chick in the fourth picture on the left handside with the ankle boots. Seriously if I saw her on Orchard road I might hurl a cup of bubble tea at her.
Rant over.
Happy New Year (I promise I’m not crazy)!
WOW! Not bad! I’m jealous, i had such a lousy New Year’s Eve… (as always
