So as I mentioned in my other post at MommaWannabe.com I have a new toy ( an Olympus E-520 ) which my dear hubby bought in Korea while waiting for his connecting flight back to Singapore. This week is a great time to practice using my new camera because of the Chinese New Year. We went to Chinatown last Saturday and there’s no sign of recession here at all. It was very busy, people rushing to buy some goodies for their celebration.

The year 2009 is the Year of the Female Brown Earth Fox.
Characteristics of People Born in the Year of the Ox
People who are ruled by the Ox tend to be patient and dependable, bright and rational to the extreme. Although they may seem quiet, when they speak they are eloquent and worth paying attention to.
The Ox can be a strong ruler but needs to be very careful to accept council from others. Beware the the blind pursuit of their plans which can make them harsh dictators. Those born in the sign of the Ox do not like to be argued with. Like the ox, they can be stubborn, bigoted and easy to anger. The Ox does easily forgive those who disagree, interfere or stand in the way of their success. The ox finds failure extremely disturbing. Luckily, the careful planning and hard work they are known for mean that they do not often have to deal with this.
The ox stone is Lapis-Lazuli, topaz or amber.

Can see your EC Card now. Just dropped in! Yes, I’m changing template as I get bored easily. I have big photos to post so I really need ‘stretched’ template. Not easy to find. The blogspot templates are so boring….

I love Singapore’s Chinatown! Yeah, no sign of recession over here in Malaysia, too. People just keep buying and buying stuffs – I think we are not too affected by what’s happening in USA.
Obama is an Ox? Well, things may be challenging for him in the Year of the Ox! Since generally, oxes will have a stressful time this year : )

@ Foongpc – yeah in Chinatown, recession is not really very obvious but I’ve heard that there are a lot of people who lost their jobs too especially in the banking sector.
Obama has definitely alot on his plate – lots of work to do. I wish him all the best because whatever happens to the US – the world is affected in one way or another.
I miss singapore, I used to stay in my cousins place in Chua Chu Kang.. a very clean city. Yeah their China Town is much cleaner than Manila China Town.. but I still love Manila:)

Hi Jade,
Happy Chinese New Year to you. I am quite sure that you are in the midst of a big celebration there in Singapore as I write this comment.
My daughter, who has been Singapore-based for almost 6 months now texted me to say that recession or not, Singapore is celebrating new year in the usually affluent Chinese way.
That is good I think.
Cheers!
