Hi guys! I have been out of the loop for awhile because as you know, we were busy with the move.
And now we have landed safe and sound. I was worried when we left because not only we had 19 kilos excess baggage but the check in personnel was asking for a return ticket. Since I have a Filipino nationality, she didn’t require me a return ticket but for hubby she insisted he must have a return ticket or a visa. We told her we are going to live there for good that’s why we don’t have a return ticket and that we would only get a visa for him when we arrive in Manila.
Of course she is just following procedure but she did help us by contacting her Manila counterpart to ask if what we are saying is really possible ( that we would get the visa when we arrive). After a couple of minutes of exchanging information with her Manila colleagues, she did gave us our boarding pass.
We arrived and got a Balikbayan Visa for hubby. He is now allowed to stay in the country for one year. This is just the beginning, we would need to get him another type of visa within the year but I’ll talk about that another time.
At the moment, I am just glad to be back home no matter what bureaucracies we would have to go through later on.
