Kids and Money Talk

by Jade on June 7, 2010

Through the years I have learned to be good with handling money because I know how much hard work it is to pay debts. I have learned my lesson and that’s why I am hoping to teach the value of money to my kids early on. I don’t want them to grow up spoiled and thinking that their parents would always be there to save them if they have money troubles. I have seen this scenario in my family growing up and I don’t want this to happen to my own family.

That’s why I am glad when a friend introduced me to Ekomini, it’s an interactive piggy bank that aims to educate the kids to learn about the value of money.

It really is an awesome idea.  When you buy Ekomini, it will come with  a money box that the parents can connect to the computer so that the kids can easily track their savings and another great thing in this whole thing is that there also an interactive game called Ekominiville – where kids will learn all about saving money, where they can learn about saving, planning for purchases, donating to social causes and investing. There is also a parental interface to help the parents stay involved in their kids’ progress. This educational toy is aimed at kids aged 6 -12, and is priced $39.99.
