Understanding him

by Jade on May 8, 2009

Have I told you that I have a brother who is a registered nurse and yet he prefers working in a call center rather than to work in health care jobs … I don’t really understand his reasoning sometimes.

I wonder is the salary for health care jobs in the Philippines so bad? It’s actually not just him but I do know many others who work in a totally different field that they have studied.

Bro if you read this, don’t get mad I love you and I am not criticizing you. I just want to understand you …what are your plans and all?

There’s a lot of people who worked in a totally different field from what they studied. I guess when they started working, they realised the jobs they chose were not for them.

I think it’s OK to do the job we like to do because otherwise life would be quite miserable.

It depends actually on which company or hospital they’re working for. Some are being paid a lot, some are not..but mostly not all healthcare practitioners are getting paid that much. Like in my profession, am a Pharmacist, believe me, we don’t get paid much in private hospitals. I somewhat can relate to your bother’s reasoning. When I was in Bahrain, I didn’t actually work there as a Pharmacist. I worked as an EA and I had fun and learned a lot. I reckon when it comes to work and finding a job, what’s important is we’re enjoying it.

Have a great weekend ^_^

Advice can be listened to but not taken. I guess that the way it goes sometimes.

My daughter is also in a call center now. There were other job offers for her but she prefers to stay in her graveyard shift job only because of the higher pay. What is important is she’s enjoying it. Your brother may have same reason as my daughter. Consider his happiness too.

Just wanted to say Happy Mother’s day to you.
Working in a call center is a light lighter and easier than working as a caregiver. I used to work for Department of Education as a call center person for Borrower Services and it was an easy job, only being monitored so sometimes, it will be stressful…

I’m back Jade! Just wanna say thank you for the visit and the compliment on my new hairdo. If you’re having second thoughts on having short hair, don’t do it. Your long hair still flatters your young age and beautiful face. Carry it with confidence!

Will be back!

Maybe your brother enjoys his work in the call center. But he’s lucky coz if the call center industry didn’t prosper in the future, he has a fallback in the health care industry.
