We slept in our newly built guesthouse during our stay. It was pretty warm at night and cold in the early morning. We wake up in the farm around 6:30 am, it’s either the sun will wake you up or the roosters will. It’s okay though as I love mornings at the farm. There were so much to do and so many things to see.

We would start our day by sitting here at our balcony to enjoy the view and listen to the birds. We then would walk towards the kitchen to have our coffee and some breakfast if we feel like it as we don’t usually eat breakfast. In the Philippines people eat 3 warm meals a day and you would be surprised to see that there are not a lot of overweight people there. I don’t know how they do it, I am sure if I do that too, eat 3 times a day I would balloon up and would surely need to find the best weight loss supplement …but maybe not. There are many things we want to do in the farm so maybe being busy with all those activities will keep me slim. Well, we will know that at the end of the year…
During our stay, we did our rounds and inspected each and every area where we planted our trees. We have also started a cashew farm during the rainy season last year and I am glad to say that the trees are doing very well.
We hope that the cashew will bring in some money after 4 or 5 years because we are not earning anything at the moment. We need a cash crop to get in some cash so that we can continually support the families we have in the farm. If we don’t find a source of income in five years, I don’t know if we can keep all our caretakers employed.
That’s also one reason why we want to put up an eco resort so that our people will still have work when the trees don’t need them anymore.

I bet you can hear all the bug sounds at night, like music in my ears. Very nice, I can’t wait to try it out. Happy new year and good luck with everything. Your farm is looking much more like farm each year.
