One afternoon we saw this creature on our porch. I have never seen this before but it is interesting. Do you what this is?

It seems to be a cicada, a bug that emits a sound, they are noisemakers, and usually benign to humans. There’re a lot of differents cicadas…great macro!

It looks like some kind of a moth but I’m not exactly sure which. Is that powder on its head? You did a very nice shot of the bug, though.
